RES eVA Cyber Security Associate (Remote)

The RES eVA Cyber Security Associate role at GovCIO is a fully remote position serving the eVA Authority in the United States. Candidates will work from anywhere in the U.S., with a fixed salary of $86,614.51 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP), control narratives, risk assessment inputs, Incident Response Plans (IRP) and Information System Contingency Plans (ISCP).
• Update and manage eMASS records daily, handling POA&M edits, control evidence submissions, and configuration management artifacts.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with NIST, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability analyses, and remediation tracking.
• Provide technical guidance on security controls and assist in preparing audit evidence for federal reviews.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a Public Trust or Suitability clearance.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in federal IT security, RMF, or ATO processes.
• Hands‑on experience with eMASS, STIGs, and security control documentation.
• Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800‑53, RMF steps, and cyber risk management.
• Excellent written communication skills for clear security documentation.

Preferred Skills

• Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and associated security controls.
• Familiarity with continuous monitoring tools and automated compliance reporting.
