About the Role

As an Electrical Designer, you will translate conceptual ideas into detailed electrical plans using industry‑standard CAD software. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure designs meet safety codes, performance specifications, and client expectations. The role emphasizes precision, creativity, and proactive problem‑solving in a fast‑paced, remote‑first environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop single‑line diagrams, panel layouts, conduit routings, and wiring schematics for power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short‑circuit studies to validate design integrity.
• Coordinate with mechanical and civil disciplines to resolve clashes and ensure seamless integration.
• Maintain up‑to‑date libraries of symbols, components, and standard details in accordance with company and IEC/NEC standards.
• Generate Bill of Materials (BOMs) and support procurement teams with accurate component specifications.
• Participate in design reviews, provide technical feedback, and incorporate stakeholder comments efficiently.
• Assist field teams with RFI responses, as‑built documentation, and troubleshooting during installation phases.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience creating electrical designs for commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of NEC, IEC, and local electrical codes; ability to apply standards to design decisions.
• Proficiency in performing electrical calculations (load, voltage drop, fault current) and interpreting single‑line diagrams.
• Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting technical information to multidisciplinary teams via video conferencing and collaborative platforms.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows (Revit MEP) is a plus.
