Join a fast-growing engineering team as a fully remote Mechanical Designer and turn complex concepts into precise, production-ready models from the comfort of your home. This is your chance to own meaningful projects, collaborate with top talent worldwide, and build a career without commute stress.

Salary Range

Based on current industry standards for remote mechanical design professionals, this position offers an estimated $62,000 – $88,000 USD/year, depending on experience, software proficiency, and project scope. Top performers can negotiate toward the upper band within their first year.

About the Role

We are hiring a Remote Mechanical Designer to support our product development pipeline across consumer, industrial, and robotics sectors. You will work independently yet stay tightly aligned with our engineering leads through daily async updates and weekly live design reviews.

What You Will Do

  • Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
  • Translate mechanical requirements into detailed designs that meet cost and performance targets.
  • Run tolerance stacks, basic FEA checks, and design for manufacturability reviews.
  • Document designs clearly so remote manufacturing partners can build without ambiguity.

Requirements

This role is open to candidates who are self-driven and comfortable in a distributed team. You do not need a specific city—just a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years using CAD software for mechanical design (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Understanding of GD&T, materials, and standard fabrication methods.
  • Strong written communication skills for remote collaboration.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with PCB enclosures, sheet metal, or injection-molded parts.
  • Familiarity with PDM systems and version control for design files.
  • Prior remote work history in an engineering function.

Benefits

Working as a Remote Mechanical Designer with us means you keep your freedom while growing your skills. We invest in people who deliver, not in who sits at a desk.

What We Offer

  • 100% remote work—no offices, no commutes, ever.
  • Flexible scheduling with core overlap hours of 10am–2pm your time.
  • Annual hardware stipend for a powerful workstation and peripherals.
  • Paid online courses and certifications in CAD and engineering tools.
  • Performance-based bonus pool paid quarterly.

Why This Role Wins

Most mechanical design jobs chain you to a draft table or a corporate campus. This one hands you autonomy, real ownership, and a salary that respects your craft. You will ship designs that become physical products used around the world—all while working in your favorite hoodie.

How We Work Remotely

Our team runs on clear docs, short video check-ins, and trust. You will never be micro-managed, but your output will speak for itself. Files live in the cloud, feedback is async, and good work gets recognized fast.

Tools You Will Use

  • SolidWorks / Fusion 360 for design
  • Slack and Notion for communication and docs
  • Google Drive and Autodesk Vault for file sharing

Who Should Apply

If you are a mechanical designer who wants out of the office and into high-impact remote work, this is the role. We welcome career changers with strong portfolios and seasoned pros alike. Show us what you have built, and we will show you a better way to work.
