Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit physician charge entries and claims in compliance with Medicare, Medi‑Cal, and private payer guidelines.
• Perform detailed charge‑capture audits, identify discrepancies, and resolve billing errors promptly.
• Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and the finance team to clarify documentation and optimize coding accuracy.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging, follow up on denials, and initiate appeals to recover lost revenue.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of payer policies, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
• Generate regular performance reports and recommend process improvements for the revenue cycle.
• Provide training and support to junior billing staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in Health Information Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in physician billing or revenue cycle management, preferably in a hospital setting.
