Rise Technical Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a leading renewable‑energy specialist working on solar projects across the UK. This remote‑friendly role is based in Hyde Park, Leeds and offers a competitive salary of £50,000‑£65,000.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for residential, commercial and utility‑scale solar installations.
• Analyse electrical drawings, specifications and BIM models to identify material and labour requirements.
• Develop detailed bill‑of‑materials, pricing schedules and risk assessments in line with industry standards.
• Collaborate with design engineers, project managers and procurement teams to ensure estimates reflect realistic timelines and budgets.
• Maintain a database of supplier quotes, subcontractor rates and historical cost data for continuous improvement.
• Provide cost‑benefit analysis for alternative technologies and design options.
• Support tender submissions, bid presentations and post‑award cost control.
• Stay up‑to‑date with UK solar regulations, grid connection standards and emerging technologies.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, preferably within the solar or renewable‑energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, NEC, IEC standards and UK building regulations.
• Excellent numerical ability and proficiency with estimating software (e.g., CostX, WinEst) and MS Excel.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Relevant qualifications such as BEng/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
