Job Summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (PRN) to join our team in Jennings, Jefferson Davis Parish. This flexible, as‑needed position offers a competitive annual salary of $51,731.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients of all ages in acute, emergency, and post‑operative settings.
• Perform assessments, develop and adjust treatment plans, and operate ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, and other respiratory equipment.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, inhaler technique, and home oxygen therapy.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document all interventions accurately in the electronic health record and adhere to Ochsner’s clinical protocols.
• Participate in code blue and rapid response teams as a respiratory specialist.
• Maintain certifications, stay current with industry best practices, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential; CCRN preferred.
• Valid state licensure in Louisiana.
• Minimum of 1‑2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
• Strong communication, critical‑thinking, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible PRN shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
