About the Role

As a Veterinarian at Greenwood Animal Hospital, you will be the cornerstone of our clinical team. Your primary responsibility is the comprehensive medical care of a diverse caseload of companion animals, including diagnosis, treatment, surgery, and preventive care. You will utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and work closely with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough physical examinations and diagnostic procedures (bloodwork, imaging, etc.).
• Diagnose illnesses, injuries, and conditions; develop and implement treatment plans.
• Perform surgical procedures, including soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, under aseptic conditions.
• Administer vaccinations, medications, and anesthesia safely and effectively.
• Provide compassionate client communication, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis clearly.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to all hospital protocols and safety standards.

Requirements

We require a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary college. Current licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Washington is mandatory. Candidates must possess strong clinical skills, including proficiency in surgery, dentistry, and diagnostic imaging interpretation. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective client interaction and teamwork. Prior experience in a small animal practice is highly preferred.

Essential Qualifications

• DVM degree from an accredited veterinary college.
• Current Washington State Veterinary License.
• 2+ years of experience in a small animal veterinary practice.
• Proven ability to perform complex surgical procedures and manage anesthesia.
• Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of current veterinary medicine.
