About the Role

Our organization, Summit Recovery Center, is expanding its outpatient services across the Los Angeles metropolitan area. As a Substance Abuse Counselor you will work directly with individuals battling substance use disorders, delivering personalized treatment plans and fostering long‑term recovery. The position blends clinical excellence with community outreach, offering a unique opportunity to shape public health outcomes on the front lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client needs and develop tailored intervention strategies.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using cognitive‑behavioral techniques and motivational interviewing.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, social workers, and case managers, to ensure holistic care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with state regulations and accreditation standards.
• Provide crisis intervention and after‑hours support as needed.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field and possess a current California Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC) credential. A minimum of two years of direct counseling experience with chemically dependent populations is essential. Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and a commitment to evidence‑based practice are non‑negotiable.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in outpatient or community health settings, familiarity with tele‑health platforms, and a proven track record of reducing relapse rates are highly valued. Bilingual abilities (Spanish/English) and certifications in trauma‑informed care or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) will enhance candidacy.

Benefits & Compensation

Summit Recovery Center offers a competitive Salary Range: $45,000 – $65,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
