Are you a seasoned engineering leader who thrives on complex, multi‑disciplinary projects and wants the freedom to work from anywhere in the United States? Our client, a fast‑growing, award‑winning engineering consultancy, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to spearhead cutting‑edge initiatives, mentor a talented team, and deliver results that matter—all from the comfort of your home office.

Salary Range

Estimated total compensation: $95,000 – $130,000 USD per year, depending on experience, certifications, and proven project success.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of large‑scale projects ranging from renewable energy installations to advanced manufacturing facilities. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, manage budgets, and ensure that every deliverable meets stringent quality and safety standards—all while leveraging the flexibility of a fully remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full project lifecycle: feasibility, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close‑out.
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculation packages using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders via video conferences, collaborative platforms (e.g., MS Teams, Slack), and shared project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Smartsheet).
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and risk registers; proactively identify and mitigate issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes (ASME, IEEE, NEC) and local regulations, even when projects span multiple states.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and final hand‑over documentation for clients and senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related engineering discipline; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in project engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Proven track record managing projects valued at $5M+ and delivering on time and within budget.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Expertise with industry‑standard design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) and project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to executives and clients via video calls.
  • Self‑starter attitude with a disciplined home‑office setup (high‑speed internet, dual monitors, ergonomic workspace).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in renewable energy (solar, wind, storage) or smart infrastructure projects.
  • Six Sigma, PMP, or Agile certifications.
  • Familiarity with cloud‑based collaboration suites (Google Workspace, Office 365) and BIM coordination.
  • Prior remote‑leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to motivate dispersed teams.

Benefits & Perks

  • Fully remote work with a flexible schedule – no commute, no office politics.
  • Competitive health, dental, and vision plans with HSA/FSA options.
  • 401(k) plan with company match up to 5%.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) plus paid holidays and a “mental health day” each quarter.
  • Annual professional development stipend for certifications, conferences, or online courses.
  • Home‑office allowance (up to $1,500) for ergonomic furniture, monitors, or high‑speed internet upgrades.
  • Company‑wide virtual events, mentorship programs, and a culture that celebrates innovation.

Why This Remote Role Stands Out

Our client believes that great engineering isn’t tied to a desk in a skyscraper. By embracing a 100% remote model, they empower senior talent to work where they’re most productive—whether that’s a home office, a co‑working space, or a beachfront cabin. You’ll receive the same level of strategic influence, resources, and visibility as an on‑site leader, with the added benefit of work‑life harmony.

How to Apply

If you’re ready to lead transformative projects without sacrificing flexibility, submit your updated résumé, a cover letter highlighting a recent project you delivered remotely, and any relevant certifications through the company’s secure online portal. Qualified candidates will be contacted within 7 business days for an initial video interview.

Equal Opportunity Employer

We are committed to building a diverse team that reflects the communities we serve. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
