About the Role

As a Water Resources Engineer at Green Horizons Environmental Solutions, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing solutions for complex water resource challenges. You’ll lead projects focused on watershed management, stormwater control, groundwater protection, and climate adaptation strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software (e.g., HEC-HMS, SWMM, InfoWorks).

• Perform field investigations, including stream gauging, groundwater sampling, and wetland assessments.
• Develop and implement monitoring programs to evaluate water quality and quantity trends.
• Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and regulatory compliance documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

Ideal candidates possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in water resources engineering, particularly within Florida’s regulatory and environmental context, is essential. Proficiency in GIS and specialized modeling software is required, alongside strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication abilities are crucial for presenting complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in water resources engineering.
• Experience with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) permitting and regulations.
• Strong background in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
• Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida is preferred.
