About the Role

As a Remote Water Resources Engineer, you will lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling projects, develop stormwater management plans, and support permitting processes for municipal, industrial, and agricultural clients. You’ll utilize industry‑standard software such as HEC‑RAS, SWMM, and ArcGIS to analyze watershed behavior, design green infrastructure, and produce detailed technical reports. Regular virtual coordination with project managers, field scientists, and regulatory agencies ensures that deliverables meet both client objectives and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic and hydrologic analyses using HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, SWMM, and similar tools.
• Develop stormwater best management practices (BMPs) and low‑impact development (LID) designs.
• Prepare technical memos, design calculations, and permit applications for local, state, and federal agencies.
• Conduct field data reviews, assist with site visits (when required), and integrate GIS data into models.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of modeling protocols.
• Stay current with emerging regulations, climate resilience strategies, and sustainable water technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering; PE licensure preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, stormwater design, or related water resources projects.
• Proficiency with HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, SWMM, EPA‑SWMM, or equivalent modeling suites.
• Strong GIS skills (ArcGIS Pro/QGIS) and familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for technical reporting and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining strong collaboration via video conferencing and project management platforms.
• U.S. work authorization; candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
