About the Role

As a Remote Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting field surveys, collecting spatial data using GPS and total stations, and processing this information into detailed reports and maps. Your work will support projects ranging from construction site development to environmental conservation and urban planning. This role demands strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You’ll utilize specialized software and collaborate virtually with project managers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute field surveys using appropriate equipment (GPS, total stations, drones).
• Collect accurate spatial data and measurements according to project specifications.
• Process raw survey data using specialized software (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Trimble Business Center).
• Prepare clear and concise survey reports, drawings, and maps.
• Ensure all work adheres to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate findings effectively to remote project teams and clients.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Current State Land Surveyor License or eligibility for licensure.
• Proven experience (2+ years) in land surveying, construction staking, or similar roles.
• Proficiency with survey equipment (GPS, total stations) and relevant software.
• Strong understanding of surveying principles, trigonometry, and mathematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with drone-based surveying (UAVs).
• Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) software.
