Unlock a career where your sharp eye for detail and love for the outdoors meet cutting-edge technology, all from the comfort of your home office. We are seeking a talented and meticulous Remote Surveyor to join our dynamic team, offering a competitive salary range of $55,000 – $75,000 USD/year plus bonuses. If you thrive on accuracy, problem-solving, and creating the foundational data that builds our world, this is your opportunity to redefine your work-life balance without sacrificing professional impact.

About the Role

As a Remote Surveyor, you will be the critical link between project conception and physical reality. You will leverage advanced geospatial technology, including GPS, GIS software, and drone imagery analysis, to collect and process precise measurements of land, boundaries, and topographies. While our projects are nationwide, your expertise will be deployed locally for fieldwork, requiring periodic travel to project sites (approximately 20-30% of the time). The rest of your work—data processing, report generation, and client collaboration—will be done efficiently from your remote workspace, supported by a stellar tech team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate land surveys for construction, engineering, and mapping projects using total stations, GPS RTK, and other modern equipment.
  • Process and analyze field data using industry-standard software like AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or ArcGIS.
  • Prepare detailed plats, maps, boundary surveys, and legal descriptions that meet all state and local regulations.
  • Conduct thorough research of public records, deeds, and historical maps to verify property information.
  • Communicate clearly with project managers, clients, and field crews to ensure project timelines and specifications are met.
  • Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure ongoing precision and reliability.

What We’re Looking For

We need a self-motivated professional who is as comfortable in the field as they are in front of a computer. You must be legally authorized to work in the United States and possess the following:

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Surveying Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on surveying experience in a professional setting.
  • Active Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification or ability to obtain it within 6 months.
  • Proficiency with survey data collectors (e.g., Trimble, Leica, Topcon) and processing software.
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, boundary law, and geodetic concepts.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an unwavering commitment to data accuracy.

Preferred Attributes

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or progress toward licensure.
  • Experience with drone photogrammetry and point cloud processing.
  • Familiarity with local surveying regulations in multiple states.
  • Experience in the renewable energy, utilities, or large-scale construction sectors.

Why You’ll Love This Remote Opportunity

We believe great work happens where you feel your best. We’ve built a remote-first culture that empowers you with autonomy, flexibility, and top-tier support.

Comprehensive Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive Compensation: Base salary of $55,000 – $75,000 USD/year, with a performance-based bonus structure.
  • True Flexibility: Set your own schedule around field assignments. No micromanaging, just results.
  • Tech Empowerment: You provide the field gear; we provide a generous stipend for home office setup, high-speed internet, and licensed software.
  • Health & Wellness: Full medical, dental, and vision insurance (80% covered by us), plus a 401(k) with 4% company match.
  • Unlimited PTO: Take the time you need to recharge, with a minimum of 3 weeks encouraged.
  • Professional Growth: Annual stipend for continuing education, licensure exams, and conference attendance.
  • Travel Perks: All travel for fieldwork is pre-planned, with company-covered expenses, a daily per diem, and a dedicated company vehicle for site access.

How to Succeed in This Role

Success means you become the trusted expert our project teams rely on. You will own your projects from initial site reconnaissance to final deliverable. You will communicate proactively, flagging potential issues before they become problems. You will be a steward of accuracy, understanding that your work forms the literal foundation for billion-dollar projects. We provide the tools and trust; you bring the precision and dedication.

This is more than a job; it’s a career for a modern surveyor who values independence and impact. If you are ready to trade a long commute for a clear path to professional licensure and recognition, we want to hear from you. Your next great discovery—of both land and career potential—starts here.
