<a href="https://wehired.agency/jobs/" style="color:var(--primary-color); font-weight:600;">Remote</a> Software Engineer at Nexus FinTech (USA) – Build AI-Powered Financial Analytics Tools

Nexus FinTech is seeking a talented Remote Software Engineer to join our distributed team and architect the next generation of financial intelligence platforms. You will build scalable, secure systems that process vast datasets and deliver real-time insights to institutional clients, all while enjoying the freedom and flexibility of a fully remote career. If you thrive on complex challenges and want your code to shape the future of finance, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Remote Software Engineer, you will be a core contributor to our flagship analytics engine, a cloud-native platform that leverages machine learning to predict market trends and automate risk assessment. You’ll collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and fellow engineers in a flat, autonomous structure. Your work will directly impact how major banks and hedge funds navigate volatile markets, with your code running in production from day one. This is not a maintenance role; you will be designing new features, optimizing performance, and ensuring our infrastructure is robust and future-proof.

We operate on a “results-only” philosophy. You will own your projects from conception to deployment, with the trust to make significant technical decisions. Our stack is modern and evolving, centered around Python for backend services, React for our dashboard, and infrastructure-as-code on AWS. We emphasize code quality, comprehensive testing, and continuous integration. You’ll participate in daily stand-ups via video and engage in deep-dive design sessions, all asynchronously documented for our global team.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range

We offer a competitive, experience-based salary range of $110,000 – $160,000 USD/year, determined by your proven track record and the impact you’ve had in previous roles. This is supplemented by a meaningful equity package, giving you true ownership in our success. Additionally, a performance-based bonus is awarded annually, aligned with both company and individual OKRs.

Comprehensive Remote-First Benefits

  • Health & Wellness: 100% premium coverage for medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents, plus a generous health savings account (HSA) contribution.
  • Financial Security: 401(k) plan with a 4% company match, alongside our equity grants.
  • True Flexibility: Unlimited paid time off (PTO) with a recommended minimum of 3 weeks. Flexible hours with core collaboration windows (10 AM – 2 PM EST) for real-time interaction, but the rest of your schedule is yours to design.
  • Home Office Investment: A one-time $2,500 stipend to build your ideal workspace (monitor, chair, peripherals) and a $100/month recurring allowance for high-speed internet and coworking space memberships.
  • Growth & Learning: $3,000 annual professional development budget for courses, certifications, conferences, or books. Regular internal “tech talks” and mentorship from senior engineers.
  • Team Connection: Fully paid annual offsite retreat for the entire company, quarterly virtual social events, and an annual “innovation week” to hack on passion projects.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production applications.
  • Proficiency in at least one major backend language (Python preferred, but strong experience with Java, Go, or Node.js is acceptable).
  • Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including compute, storage, and networking services.
  • Deep understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL), API design (REST, GraphQL), and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with modern development practices: version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. As a remote-first team, the ability to document decisions clearly and collaborate asynchronously is non-negotiable.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States. This role is open to residents of any U.S. state.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Prior experience in fintech, banking, or a data-intensive SaaS product.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) or data pipeline tools (Apache Spark, Kafka).
  • Frontend experience with React, Vue.js, or similar frameworks to contribute to full-stack features.
  • Background in security best practices, compliance (SOC 2, GDPR), and scalable system design.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a visible technical blog/portfolio.

How We Work

Nexus FinTech is a fully distributed company from day one. We believe talent is global and that sustainable productivity comes from trust and autonomy, not surveillance. Our communication is heavily documented in tools like Slack, Notion, and GitHub. Meetings are kept to a minimum and always have a clear agenda. We focus on output, not hours logged. You’ll have the opportunity to shape our engineering culture, from our code review processes to our tooling choices. We are committed to diversity and building an inclusive environment where engineers from all backgrounds can thrive.

Application Process

If you’re excited to build the financial tools of tomorrow from your home office, we encourage you to apply. Please submit your resume and a cover letter or brief statement detailing a specific technical challenge you solved and the impact it had. Include links to your GitHub profile, portfolio, or relevant projects. While a cover letter is not strictly mandatory, a thoughtful note that explains why this role and Nexus FinTech specifically resonate with you will significantly strengthen your application. We review applications on a rolling basis and will reach out for a preliminary chat and technical assessment if your background aligns with our needs. No third-party recruiters, please.
