Step into a pivotal role where your technical mastery and leadership directly shape the future of critical infrastructure. As a Remote Senior Project Engineer, you will own the full project lifecycle for complex, multi-million dollar initiatives, driving them from conception to flawless completion with complete location independence. This is a chance to leverage over a decade of expertise in a dynamic, fully-remote environment that values results over hours logged.

About the Role & Our Vision

We are a forward-thinking engineering solutions provider specializing in large-scale industrial and commercial projects. Our culture is built on trust, technical excellence, and a flexible work model that attracts the best talent, regardless of geography. In this senior-level position, you will be the technical and organizational cornerstone for a portfolio of projects, mentoring mid-level engineers and serving as the primary client liaison for project deliverables. Your success means on-time, on-budget, and exceed-quality-expectations outcomes.

Core Mission

Your primary mission is to ensure project viability, profitability, and client satisfaction. You will translate complex client requirements into actionable engineering plans, manage cross-functional teams, and mitigate risks before they become issues. This role is 100% remote, requiring occasional travel (5-10%) for critical site visits, client workshops, or team summits.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Project Leadership: Own the project charter, scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Technical Authority: Perform advanced engineering analysis, review all design deliverables, and ensure compliance with relevant codes (e.g., ASME, AWS, IBC) and client specifications.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal teams. Lead progress meetings and present technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Mentorship & Development: Guide and review the work of Project Engineers and Designers, fostering a collaborative, knowledge-sharing remote team environment.
  • Risk & Financial Management: Proactively identify project risks, manage change orders, and track financial performance against projections to ensure target margins.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee QA/QC processes, ensuring all deliverables meet our stringent standards for excellence.

Qualifications & Requirements

We are seeking a proven leader with a rare combination of deep technical skill and business acumen.

Must-Have Credentials & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline. Master’s degree is a strong plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in project engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role managing projects >$5M.
  • Demonstrated history of successfully delivering complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Expert proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in the energy, manufacturing, or heavy civil sectors.
  • Proven ability to work independently and thrive in a fully distributed team setting.
  • Lean Construction or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a highly competitive total rewards package that reflects the seniority and impact of this role.

Salary Range

The base salary range for this position is $125,000 – $165,000 USD annually, commensurate with experience and proven track record. This role is also bonus-eligible with a target bonus of 10-15% based on individual and company performance metrics.

Comprehensive Benefits Package

  • 100% Remote Work: True work-from-anywhere flexibility with no mandatory office days.
  • Health & Wellness: Premium medical, dental, and vision insurance plans (90% company-paid for employee). Health Savings Account (HSA) with company contribution.
  • Financial Security: 401(k) plan with 4% company match, life insurance, and short/long-term disability.
  • Time Off: Generous PTO accrual (4 weeks starting) plus 10 company holidays and 5 sick days.
  • Professional Growth: Annual $3,000 stipend for certifications, conferences, and coursework.
  • Home Office Setup: One-time $1,500 stipend to establish your optimal remote workspace.
  • Connectivity: Monthly stipend to cover high-speed internet costs.

How to Succeed in This Role

You will excel if you are a self-motivated problem-solver who sees challenges as puzzles. We value engineers who think critically about constructability and lifecycle cost, not just theoretical design. The ideal candidate is proactively communicative, uses data to drive decisions, and takes clear ownership of their project’s outcomes. You will be measured on project profitability, client satisfaction scores (NPS), team development, and safety records.

Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

We are an equal-opportunity employer. We celebrate a diverse workforce and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. We believe that diverse perspectives drive better engineering solutions.
