Recent Activity
We are seeking a visionary Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and integration of next-generation renewable energy systems. In this fully remote role, you will architect solutions that power communities and combat climate change, enjoying unparalleled flexibility and a competitive salary. Your expertise will directly influence the scalability and efficiency of our groundbreaking solar and storage projects.
About the Role & Your Impact
As a key member of our Engineering team, you will own the full electrical design lifecycle for utility-scale and commercial energy projects. Moving beyond traditional engineering, you will integrate smart grid technologies, advanced power electronics, and AI-driven optimization models. This is not a maintenance role; it is a creative, front-line position where your technical decisions shape the infrastructure of a clean energy future. You will collaborate with project managers, civil engineers, and data scientists to deliver turnkey solutions that are both technically brilliant and commercially viable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design for medium-voltage (MV) and high-voltage (HV) substations, including protection coordination, grounding studies, and short-circuit analysis using ETAP/SKPower.
- Design and specify solar PV arrays, inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and balance-of-system (BOS) components.
- Develop single-line diagrams, layout plans, equipment schedules, and detailed construction packages.
- Perform grid interconnection studies, ensuring compliance with IEEE, NEC, UL, and local utility requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Interface with clients, utilities, and regulatory bodies to navigate permitting and interconnection processes.
- Travel up to 10% for critical site visits, commissioning, and stakeholder meetings.
What We Require: The Non-Negotiables
You are a seasoned engineer with a proven track record in power systems or renewable energy. Your foundation is built on rigorous analysis and a passion for sustainable innovation.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States is strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in electrical power system design, with at least 4 years focused on solar PV, energy storage, or substation projects.
- Mastery of industry-standard software: AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM, PVsyst, or similar.
- Deep, practical knowledge of the NEC, IEEE 519, 141, 1584, and UL 1741 standards.
- Demonstrated experience with utility interconnection applications and studies.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with 35kV+ substation design and relay coordination.
- Familiarity with DER (Distributed Energy Resource) management systems and grid-forming inverter technology.
- Project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and client-facing communication.
- Active involvement in professional organizations like IEEE PES or NAESCO.
Compensation & Benefits
We believe in compensating top talent exceptionally well for the value they create. This role is structured to reward expertise, innovation, and leadership.
Salary Range
The estimated base salary range for this position is $110,000 – $150,000 USD per year. Final compensation will be determined based on your experience, geographic location (for state-specific pay equity), and unique skill set. This role is also eligible for a performance-based annual bonus and a long-term incentive plan.
Comprehensive Benefits Package
- True Remote Flexibility: Work from anywhere in the U.S. with a flexible schedule. We provide a home office stipend to optimize your workspace.
- Health & Wellness: Premium medical, dental, and vision insurance (90% employer-paid). Generous mental health stipend and access to wellness programs.
