Senior Electrical Engineer – <a href="https://wehired.agency/jobs/" style="color:var(--primary-color); font-weight:600;">Remote</a> Role Leading Hardware Innovation

Imagine designing the core hardware that powers the next generation of technology, all from the comfort of your home office. We are seeking a visionary Senior Electrical Engineer to lead our hardware design team, architect complex systems, and deliver robust, scalable solutions that impact millions. This is a truly remote opportunity for a leader ready to own projects from concept to production.

About the Role & Impact

In this pivotal position, you will be the technical authority for our hardware division. You will transition from executing designs to defining the architectural vision, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and manufacturability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, firmware) to integrate seamless hardware-software ecosystems and mentor junior engineers to elevate our entire team’s capability.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of complex PCB design for high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and power systems, from schematic capture to layout oversight and design validation.
  • Perform detailed signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), and EMI/EMC analysis and mitigation to ensure first-pass success.
  • Develop and validate test plans, define test procedures, and analyze hardware bring-up and failure data.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, design reports, and BOM management.
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and test (DFT).
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to mid-level and junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Present designs, trade-off analyses, and project status to senior leadership and stakeholders.

What You Bring (Requirements)

We need a proven expert with a track record of delivering sophisticated hardware. The ideal candidate is as comfortable with a 4-layer stack-up as they are with a project timeline.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical hardware design, with at least 2 years in a lead or principal engineer capacity.
  • Mastery of industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, Altium Designer, Mentor PADS).
  • Deep, practical experience with high-speed digital design principles (impedance control, termination, length matching).
  • Strong background in analog and power electronics (DC-DC conversion, LDOs, power sequencing).
  • Proven ability to debug hardware at the bench (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers).
  • Excellent knowledge of component selection, sourcing, and lifecycle management.
  • Superior communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-engineers.

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Experience in industries such as IoT, consumer electronics, medical devices, or aerospace/defense.
  • Familiarity with FPGA or microcontroller-based system design.
  • Understanding of functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 62304) is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in recognizing top-tier talent with exceptional compensation and a benefits package designed for a remote-first lifestyle.

Salary Range

$125,000 – $175,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience, expertise, and location-based market adjustments. This role is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus and a long-term equity grant.

Our Commitment to You

  • True Flexibility: Work from anywhere. Define your own schedule. We focus on output, not hours.
  • Comprehensive Health: 100% premium coverage for medical, dental, and vision for you and dependents.
  • Unlimited PTO: Generous, flexible paid time off to recharge and pursue your passions.
  • Home Office Stipend: A budget to create your optimal remote workspace (ergonomic chair, monitor, etc.).
  • Learning & Growth: $3,000 annual stipend for courses, conferences, certifications, and books.
  • Tech Package: Top-of-the-line laptop and all necessary hardware provided.
  • Team Connection: Fully remote, but connected. Regular virtual socials, annual in-person summits (all expenses paid), and a culture that values collaboration.

Why Join Our Engineering Culture?

We are a group of pragmatic problem-solvers obsessed with building elegant, reliable hardware. We move fast but never compromise on quality. Your voice will be heard from day one, and your decisions will directly influence our product roadmap and company success. We are technology-agnostic and believe in using the right tool for the job, fostering an environment of innovation and intellectual curiosity. If you are tired of bureaucratic processes and want to have tangible, measurable impact on products that people love, this is your team.

To apply, please submit your resume, a cover letter detailing your most challenging hardware project and your specific role in its success, and links to any public portfolios or GitHub repositories showcasing your work (if applicable) to careers@techinnovate.example.com with the subject line: Senior Electrical Engineer Application – [Your Name].
