About the Role

As a Remote Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical care, you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based nursing care to a diverse patient population. You will utilize advanced assessment skills, critical thinking, and clinical expertise to manage patient care plans, administer medications, coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and provide essential education to patients and their families. This role requires exceptional communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient safety and quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans for medically complex and post-surgical patients.
• Administer medications safely and accurately according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and initiate appropriate interventions or report concerns promptly.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other nurses to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
• Provide patient and family education on post-operative care, disease management, and discharge planning.
• Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems proficiently to document care accurately and timely.

Requirements

Required

• Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing within the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent, verifiable experience working as a Registered Nurse in a Medical-Surgical unit within the last 3 years.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a remote or home-based nursing environment, demonstrating strong self-discipline and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and compassionately.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

Preferred

• Experience with telehealth platforms and remote patient monitoring technologies.
• Previous experience in case management or care coordination.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
