Ready to dive deep into massive data sets, build predictive models, and influence multi‑billion‑dollar investment strategies—all from the comfort of your home office? Join a fast‑growing fintech firm that values curiosity, rigor, and innovative thinking. This is your chance to collaborate with world‑class PhDs, engineers, and traders without ever stepping into a physical office.
About the Role
As a Remote Quantitative Researcher, you will be at the heart of our investment engine, turning raw market data into actionable insights. You’ll design, test, and implement statistical and machine learning models that guide trading decisions across equities, futures, and crypto assets. While you’ll work independently, you’ll also partner closely with data engineers, portfolio managers, and software developers to ensure models are production‑ready and continuously improving.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and back‑test quantitative strategies using Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Perform deep statistical analysis on high‑frequency market data, alternative data sources, and macroeconomic indicators.
- Translate research findings into clear, actionable recommendations for trading desks.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy models into low‑latency production environments.
- Maintain rigorous documentation, version control, and reproducibility standards.
- Stay current with academic research, attending conferences virtually and publishing internal whitepapers.
Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience building quantitative models for finance, trading, or risk management.
- Proficiency in Python (NumPy, pandas, scikit‑learn) and/or R; familiarity with SQL and big‑data tools (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
- Strong foundation in probability, time‑series analysis, stochastic calculus, and optimization techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fully remote environment, managing time zones and delivering results without direct supervision.
- Excellent communication skills—ability to explain complex concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of C++ or Java for performance‑critical components.
- Familiarity with alternative data (satellite imagery, social sentiment, web traffic).
- Published research in top‑tier journals or conferences.
Salary Range
Competitive total compensation package: $120,000 – $180,000 USD per year, plus performance‑based bonuses, equity grants, and a comprehensive benefits suite.
Benefits & Perks
- Fully remote work – flexible hours to match your lifestyle and time zone.
- Home‑office stipend for ergonomic furniture, high‑speed internet, and equipment.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance covering you and your dependents.
- Generous paid time off, parental leave, and a sabbatical program after five years.
- Continuous learning budget for courses, certifications, and virtual conferences.
- Quarterly virtual team‑building events, hackathons, and mentorship circles.
