Join Innovatech Solutions, a leader in advanced engineering, as a Remote Mechanical Designer. In this pivotal role, you will architect the next generation of consumer and industrial products from your home office, directly impacting our global client portfolio. We offer unparalleled flexibility, a collaborative digital environment, and a compensation package that rewards your expertise and innovation.

About the Role

As a Remote Mechanical Designer, you will be the cornerstone of our product development lifecycle. You will take concepts from initial sketches through to detailed, manufacturable designs, ensuring they meet stringent functional, aesthetic, and regulatory standards. Working within a distributed team of engineers and project managers, your primary responsibility is to deliver precise, innovative, and robust mechanical solutions using state-of-the-art CAD software. This is not a drafting position; it is a design-ownership role where your creative problem-solving directly influences the success of groundbreaking projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive 3D models, detailed 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for complex assemblies and components.
  • Perform rigorous design analysis, including FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and tolerance stack-up studies, to validate performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate daily with electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers via video conferencing and collaborative platforms to ensure design integration and feasibility.
  • Create and maintain design documentation, including specifications, test reports, and revision control logs.
  • Engage with suppliers and vendors remotely to discuss material selections, manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, injection molding), and prototype fabrication.
  • Participate in virtual design reviews, presenting concepts and defending engineering decisions to cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Champion design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles to optimize production efficiency and cost.

Requirements

We are looking for a self-motivated professional with a proven track record in mechanical design. The ideal candidate thrives in an independent, remote setting while maintaining excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in mechanical product design and development.
  • Expert proficiency in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or PTC Creo. Experience with Autodesk Inventor or Fusion 360 is also valued.
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) per ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with creating detailed manufacturing drawings and complete BOMs.
  • Familiarity with common manufacturing processes and materials (metals, plastics, composites).
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) for clear remote collaboration.
  • A dedicated, quiet home workspace with a reliable high-speed internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or progress toward certification.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping methods (3D printing, machining) and test validation.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations (e.g., FDA for medical devices, UL for electronics).
  • Experience in a fast-paced, agile development environment within sectors like IoT, robotics, aerospace, or consumer electronics.
  • Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems like Teamcenter or Windchill.

Benefits & Perks

We believe in taking care of our team. As a full-time remote employee, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package designed for your health, wealth, and work-life balance.

  • Competitive Salary Range: $65,000 – $95,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience and skill level.
  • Comprehensive Health Insurance: 100% premium coverage for medical, dental, and vision for employees and dependents.
  • Financial Security: 401(k) plan with a 4% company match and immediate vesting.
  • True Flexibility: Flexible hours and a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy, including company-wide holidays.
  • Home Office Stipend: Annual budget to enhance your remote workspace (ergonomic chair, monitor, etc.).
  • Professional Growth: Annual stipend for continuing education, conferences, and certifications.
  • Technology Package: Company-provided laptop and all necessary software licenses.
  • Wellness Support: Access to mental health resources and wellness programs.
