We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer for a full-time remote position. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and documentation of mechanical components and assemblies for cutting-edge products in the renewable energy and advanced manufacturing sectors. If you thrive in a collaborative, tech-forward environment and want your work to have a tangible positive impact, this is your opportunity.

About the Role & Company

As a key member of our product development team at Veridian Dynamics, you will translate conceptual ideas and engineering specifications into precise, manufacturable designs. This is a fully remote position, offering you the autonomy to structure your day for peak productivity while staying connected to a supportive, global team through daily stand-ups and collaborative design reviews. We are a mission-driven company focused on creating sustainable infrastructure solutions, and your designs will directly contribute to reducing environmental impact and advancing industrial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

  • Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Design mechanical systems, components, and fixtures for prototypes and production, ensuring they meet functional, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform design analysis, including stress, thermal, and motion simulations, to validate performance.
  • Develop design concepts from sketches and engineering requirements into comprehensive technical packages.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Supply Chain specialists to ensure designs are optimized for cost, manufacturability, and assembly.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to elevate the quality of our products.
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including revision control, technical notes, and compliance records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for design processes and standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design or product development.
  • Expert proficiency in SolidWorks (mandatory) and AutoCAD. Experience with Inventor or Fusion 360 is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, casting, additive manufacturing), and material science.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex, multi-faceted projects.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in the renewable energy, industrial equipment, or robotics industries.
  • Familiarity with FEA analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation).
  • Knowledge of basic electrical integration principles and component selection.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $85,000 – $115,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience and expertise. This is a salaried (exempt) position.
