Architect the digital backbone of a forward-thinking company as our remote IT leader. You will transform business goals into robust, secure technology ecosystems, managing a distributed team and multimillion-dollar infrastructure to drive innovation and competitive advantage.

About the Role

As our Computer and Information Systems Manager, you are the strategic bridge between executive vision and technological execution. Operating remotely, you will own the full technology lifecycle—from planning and budgeting to implementation, security, and continuous optimization. This is not a support role; it is a pivotal leadership position where your decisions directly impact company growth, operational efficiency, and data integrity across all departments.

You will lead a team of IT professionals, manage vendor relationships, and ensure our cloud and on-premise systems are scalable, resilient, and aligned with long-term business objectives. Your focus will be on proactive system design, robust cybersecurity postures, and leveraging data analytics to provide actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the annual IT strategic plan and budget, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
  • Oversee all IT infrastructure, including network architecture, cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP), cybersecurity protocols, and data management systems.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of systems administrators, network engineers, and security analysts in a fully remote structure.
  • Implement and maintain enterprise-grade security measures, disaster recovery plans, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
  • Evaluate and procure new technologies, software, and services; negotiate vendor contracts and SLAs.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor to C-suite executives, translating complex IT concepts into clear business language.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives, including automation, AI integration, and process re-engineering.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for system uptime, security incidents, and project delivery.

Requirements

We seek a proven leader with a blend of deep technical expertise and sharp business acumen. The ideal candidate has a track record of managing complex IT environments and high-performing teams in a remote or hybrid setting.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 4 years in a management or director-level role.
  • Expert-level knowledge of enterprise network design, cloud infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS), and hybrid system architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with cybersecurity frameworks, penetration testing, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Proven experience managing IT budgets exceeding $1M and conducting ROI analyses for major tech investments.
  • Demonstrated success in leading remote technical teams, including hiring, performance management, and professional development.
  • Exceptional communication skills; ability to present to non-technical stakeholders and negotiate with technical vendors.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or AWS/Azure Solutions Architect are highly advantageous.

What We Offer

We invest in our leaders. In return for your expertise and vision, we provide a comprehensive package designed for top-tier talent who value autonomy, impact, and growth.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $110,000 – $160,000 USD/year, based on experience and proven track record.
  • Performance Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus up to 20% of base salary tied to company and departmental OKRs.
  • Equity/Profit Sharing: Opportunity for company stock options or profit-sharing in a high-growth environment.
  • Full Remote Flexibility: Work from anywhere within the United States. We provide a home office stipend and top-tier equipment.
  • Health & Wellness: 100% premium coverage for medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family. Generous mental health and wellness stipend.
  • Time Off: Unlimited PTO policy with a recommended minimum of 3 weeks, plus 11 company holidays and 5 sick days.
  • Professional Development: Annual $5,000 budget for conferences, certifications, courses, and books.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with a 4% company match, vested immediately.
  • Technology Allowance: Annual refresh for your home office hardware and high-speed internet reimbursement.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity and loves building systems from the ground up. You are passionate about security, obsessed with efficiency, and obsessed with using technology as a lever for business value. You communicate with clarity, lead with empathy, and hold yourself accountable for results. You are comfortable making million-dollar decisions with imperfect data and can inspire your team to execute with precision.

This role is for a doer, a leader, and an architect. If you are ready to own the technology vision for a dynamic, remote-first company and leave a lasting digital legacy, we want to hear from you.
