Shape the future of patient care without leaving your home office. We are seeking a dynamic Medical and Health Services Manager to oversee clinical operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive strategic initiatives for a multi-state healthcare network. This is a fully remote leadership role where your expertise directly impacts service quality and organizational growth.

About the Role

As a remote Medical and Health Services Manager, you will serve as the critical link between clinical staff, administrative teams, and executive leadership. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of health service delivery, ensuring efficiency, regulatory adherence, and exceptional patient outcomes. Your portfolio will include overseeing nursing units, rehabilitation services, or outpatient clinics, depending on your assigned domain. You will analyze operational data, manage budgets, implement new healthcare technologies like telehealth platforms, and lead quality improvement projects—all from your remote workstation with regular virtual team syncs and occasional travel for key meetings.

Core Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the delivery of medical and health services across assigned departments or facilities.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission standards).
  • Manage departmental budgets, including staffing, supplies, and equipment, to optimize financial performance.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate clinical and administrative staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyze patient care data and operational metrics to identify trends, improve efficiency, and enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Serve as a liaison between physicians, nursing staff, and senior management to facilitate seamless operations.
  • Lead the adoption and optimization of electronic health records (EHR) and other health IT systems.

Requirements

We need a seasoned professional with a blend of clinical understanding and sharp business acumen. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who thrives in a virtual, autonomous environment while maintaining strong collaborative connections.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field. Master’s degree (MHA, MBA, or MSN) is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in a healthcare setting (hospital, clinic, nursing home, or integrated health system). At least 2 years must be in a formal managerial or supervisory role.
  • Licensure/Certification: Active, unrestricted RN license (if coming from a nursing background) is a strong plus. Certified Medical Manager (CMM) or Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) certification is desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel for data analysis, and demonstrated aptitude with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and telehealth platforms.
  • Remote Work Aptitude: Proven ability to work effectively in a remote setting: self-motivated, excellent time management, proactive communicator via video conferencing and collaborative tools (Slack, Teams, Asana).

Essential Skills

  • Deep knowledge of healthcare regulations, reimbursement models (Medicare/Medicaid), and compliance standards.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for virtual team leadership and conflict resolution.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget development and management.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead change in a complex, evolving healthcare landscape.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a salaried, exempt position. We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, wealth, and professional growth.

Salary Range

$85,000 – $125,000 USD per year (Final offer will be based on geographic market adjustments, years of relevant experience, and specific scope of responsibility).

In this remote role, you will join a supportive, mission-driven network that values your expertise and provides the autonomy to make a real difference. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives drive innovation in patient care.
