As a remote first-line supervisor, you’ll manage, train, and inspire a team of food preparation workers, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency for our clients or facilities, all while enjoying the flexibility of a work-from-home career.
About the Role
In this pivotal remote position, you are the operational backbone connecting a distributed team of food preparation workers to our central culinary standards. You will not be cooking yourself, but rather orchestrating the workflow, quality control, and team performance from a remote command center. Using digital communication tools, scheduling platforms, and reporting systems, you will oversee a team that may be located in various kitchens, commissaries, or central production facilities. Your primary mission is to ensure every dish prepared under your team’s supervision meets exacting standards for taste, safety, and presentation, directly impacting customer satisfaction and brand reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Remote Team Leadership: Conduct daily virtual huddles, performance check-ins, and coaching sessions. Assign tasks based on production schedules and individual team member strengths.
- Quality & Safety Assurance: Monitor production through photo/video submissions, digital checklists, and real-time reports. Enforce strict adherence to HACCP protocols, sanitation standards, and recipe specifications remotely.
- Operational Coordination: Manage shift schedules, labor cost reports, and inventory levels in collaboration with on-site leads or vendors. Troubleshoot delays or issues in the production chain in real-time.
- Training & Development: Lead virtual training modules on new recipes, equipment, and procedures. Mentor team members, addressing performance gaps and recognizing excellence.
- Reporting & Communication: Generate daily production, waste, and quality reports. Serve as the key communication hub between on-site staff, corporate chefs, and logistics managers.

- Proven ability to interpret and enforce food safety regulations (ServSafe certification or equivalent a plus).
- Strong proficiency with digital tools: Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, scheduling software (e.g., 7shifts, HotSchedules), and video conferencing.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for clear remote direction.
- A natural problem-solver who can make quick, sound decisions based on data and reports.
- Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated, quiet home workspace.
