We are seeking a talented and meticulous Electrical Designer to join our forward-thinking engineering firm. In this fully remote role, you will be the architect behind the electrical systems that power our most ambitious commercial and industrial projects, enjoying unparalleled flexibility, a competitive salary, and the chance to make a tangible impact without ever needing to commute.
About the Role & Your Impact
As a key member of our design team, you will transition electrical concepts from preliminary sketches into detailed, constructible plans using industry-standard software. You will collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure designs are not only innovative and efficient but also fully compliant with the latest NEC codes and client specifications. This is a hands-on role where your daily work directly enables the construction of safe, reliable, and sustainable facilities across the nation.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Developing comprehensive electrical construction documents: power distribution plans, lighting layouts, grounding schematics, and single-line diagrams.
- Performing accurate load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short-circuit studies.
- Creating and maintaining detailed panel schedules, conductor sizing, and specification reports.
- Coordinating seamlessly with other design disciplines (HVAC, plumbing, structural) to resolve conflicts and ensure integrated building systems.
- Reviewing shop drawings and submittals from contractors to verify adherence to design intent.
- Participating in design charrettes, client meetings, and project close-out documentation.
What You Bring (Requirements)
We are looking for a proactive problem-solver with a strong foundation in electrical theory and a passion for precision. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, excels in a virtual collaborative environment, and is committed to continuous learning.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in electrical design for commercial, institutional, or industrial buildings.
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery of AutoCAD and/or Revit (MEP) is non-negotiable. Familiarity with BIM 360/ACC and Navisworks is a strong plus.
- Knowledge: Deep, working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local amendments. Understanding of IBC and NFPA 70E is valuable.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills for clear virtual collaboration, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple project deadlines independently.
Compensation & Benefits Package
We believe in rewarding exceptional talent. This is a full-time, exempt position with a comprehensive package designed for your financial well-being and personal growth.
Salary Range:
$75,000 – $105,000 USD/Year
