About the Role & Our Mission

As a Remote Information Security Analyst, you will report directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and collaborate with IT, engineering, and legal teams. Your primary mission is to proactively identify vulnerabilities, monitor for threats, and respond to incidents to safeguard our cloud environments, customer data, and corporate assets. We believe in security as an enabler, not a blocker, and we need an analyst who can communicate risks clearly and build strong, practical defenses.

Key Responsibilities

Threat Monitoring & Analysis

• 24/7 monitoring of security information and event management (SIEM) tools to detect and investigate suspicious activities.
• Conduct deep-dive forensic analysis on security events, malware, and intrusion attempts.
• Develop and refine detection rules and correlation alerts based on emerging threat intelligence.

Vulnerability Management

• Perform regular vulnerability scans on networks, systems, and applications using tools like Nessus or Qualys.
• Prioritize findings based on risk, exploitability, and business impact; drive remediation with asset owners.
• Manage the patch management lifecycle and ensure compliance with security baselines.

Incident Response & Reporting

• Act as a first responder for security incidents, following established playbooks for containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Document incidents thoroughly for post-mortem analysis and compliance reporting.
• Prepare regular security metrics and executive summaries on the threat landscape and our defensive posture.

What You Bring (Requirements)

Technical Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in an information security analyst, SOC, or incident response role.
• Proven proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, or similar), EDR tools (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne), and vulnerability scanners.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, Windows/Linux system security, and common attack vectors (phishing, malware, ransomware, DDoS).
• Experience with cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and securing SaaS applications.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
• Knowledge of scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash) is a significant plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $85,000 – $120,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience and skill level. This role is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.
