About the Role & Your Impact

As a pivotal member of our Virtual Care Team, you will function as an extension of on-site hospital staff, providing real-time surveillance, assessment, and intervention for patients in intensive care units. Using advanced telemetry and two-way audio/video technology, you will monitor vital signs, track lab values, and collaborate closely with bedside nurses and physicians to ensure optimal, timely care for the most vulnerable patients. Your vigilance and expertise directly contribute to reduced complications, shorter lengths of stay, and improved survival rates.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess multiple ICU patients simultaneously via centralized telemetry stations.
• Perform comprehensive virtual assessments, interpret trends in hemodynamic data, EKGs, and ventilator settings.
• Identify early signs of patient deterioration and escalate concerns immediately to on-site teams.
• Provide expert clinical guidance and support to bedside nurses, validating assessments and care plans.
• Document all observations, communications, and interventions accurately and promptly in the EHR.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds virtually, advocating for patient needs and safety.
• Adhere strictly to all protocols, privacy regulations (HIPAA), and quality assurance standards.

Salary & Compensation

We offer a highly competitive salary range to attract the best talent in remote critical care. The estimated salary range for this position is $82,000 – $105,000 USD per year, commensurate with your years of ICU experience, certifications, and shift differentials. This is a salaried exempt position with eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of primary residence (multi-state licensure a plus).
• Minimum of 2 years of full-time, recent experience in a Medical-Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, or Neuro ICU setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Demonstrated proficiency with technology, EHR systems, and troubleshooting basic computer/audio-visual issues.
• Excellent communication skills—clear, concise, and calm under pressure—with a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment health screening.

Preferred (But Not Required)

• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
• Previous experience in a tele-ICU, virtual care, or remote monitoring environment.
• Experience with specific ventilator, hemodynamic, and renal replacement therapy machines.
