Are you a seasoned professional tired of being tied to a specific terminal or geographic region? We are revolutionizing the driving experience by offering a genuinely remote Over-the-Road (OTR) position for qualified Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers. This isn’t just a job; it’s your business on wheels, backed by a supportive carrier that provides the freight, the pay, and the freedom, while you control your home base. If you have the CDL-A, the experience, and the desire for maximum autonomy and earnings, the open road is officially your office.
About the Role: The New Standard in Trucking Freedom
This position is designed for the elite, self-motivated driver who values flexibility above all else. Unlike traditional roles that require you to live near a specific dispatch center or terminal, we operate on a truly national remote model. Your “home” is wherever you choose to park your truck. We provide consistent, premium freight lanes across the continental United States, and you provide the expertise to move it safely and efficiently. This is a 100% OTR role with significant home-time flexibility, allowing you to build your schedule around your life, not the other way around. You will be an integral part of a modern logistics network, handling everything from dry van to flatbed loads, depending on your endorsement and preference.
The PrimeRoute Logistics Difference
We believe the best drivers are treated like partners. Our remote model eliminates unnecessary check-ins at a physical location, reduces dispatcher micromanagement, and streamlines communication through a cutting-edge mobile app. You deal directly with dedicated, knowledgeable dispatchers who understand the realities of the road and are committed to maximizing your productive miles and minimizing deadhead. We invest in our equipment and our people, ensuring you have the tools and support to succeed without the corporate red tape.
What You’ll Do: Master the Nation’s Highways
Core Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 53′ trailer (dry van, flatbed, or refrigerated) on long-haul routes across the lower 48 states.
- Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of your tractor and trailer, maintaining a culture of safety and compliance.
- Complete all required DOT documentation, including logs (ELD), bills of lading, and inspection reports, with accuracy and timeliness.
- Secure and properly load/unload various types of freight using professional techniques and, when applicable, equipment like tarps and chains.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and customer service regarding load status, delays, and route challenges.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols, FMCSA regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
Requirements: Are You the Elite Driver We’re Seeking?
This opportunity is not for beginners. We need confident, professional, and reliable drivers who can operate with minimal supervision.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable OTR tractor-trailer experience. Experience with flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated cargo is a significant plus.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Proven ability to manage your own schedule, time, and expenses while living on the road.
- Smartphone proficiency for using our driver app for communication, documentation, and load details.
Compensation & Benefits: Earn What You’re Worth
We believe in transparent, profitable compensation that rewards your skill and dedication. Your income is directly tied to your productivity and the lanes you choose.
Estimated Salary Range
$55,000 – $85,000+ USD/Year
This range is based on industry standards for experienced OTR drivers with a reputable carrier. Actual earnings depend on miles driven, experience, endorsements (e.g., tanker, doubles/triples), and the specific freight type selected. Our model allows top performers to consistently exceed $70,000 annually through efficient routing and minimal downtime. Weekly or bi-weekly direct deposit is standard.
