About the Role

As a Remote Healthcare Reimbursement Specialist, you will be the vital link between providers, payers, and patients, ensuring that every claim is submitted correctly, processed promptly, and reimbursed fully. You’ll work closely with billing staff, clinical teams, and insurance carriers to resolve denials, appeal underpayments, and optimize revenue cycle performance—all from the comfort of your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate medical claims for completeness and compliance with payer guidelines.
• Submit electronic and paper claims, track status, and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Analyze denial trends, develop corrective action plans, and resubmit corrected claims.
• Communicate with insurance representatives to resolve payment discrepancies and negotiate settlements.
• Maintain accurate records in the practice management system and generate monthly reimbursement reports.
• Stay current with coding updates (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10) and regulatory changes affecting reimbursement.
• Provide training and support to billing associates on best practices for claim submission.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Associate’s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Billing, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, medical billing, or claims adjudication.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) and practice management systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech).

• Strong understanding of insurance contracts, fee schedules, and reimbursement methodologies.
