About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain secure, efficient health information systems and electronic health records (EHRs).

Collaborate with clinical staff, administrators, and IT teams to design and deploy solutions that improve data accuracy, accessibility, and interoperability.

Ensure strict compliance with provincial healthcare regulations (e.g., PHIPA, Ontario Health) and industry best practices for data security and privacy.

Troubleshoot complex IT issues related to health information systems, providing timely support and resolution.

Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Train end-users on new systems and processes, fostering digital literacy and adoption.

Requirements

**Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Health Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.

**Experience:** Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in health IT, including EHR implementation, system administration, and data management within a healthcare setting.

**Certifications:** RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) strongly preferred. Other relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP) are a plus.

**Technical Skills:** Proven expertise with major EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech), data analysis tools, network security protocols, and health information standards (HL7, FHIR).

**Soft Skills:** Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills (verbal and written), ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders, and meticulous attention to detail.
