About the Role

As a Remote Health IT Specialist, you will act as the technical liaison between our software development teams and healthcare providers. You’ll ensure seamless integration of electronic health records (EHR), troubleshoot system issues, and train users on best practices—all while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, test, and deploy EHR modules, telehealth interfaces, and data exchange standards (HL7, FHIR).
  • Provide Tier‑2 & Tier‑3 support to clinicians, answering technical queries via ticketing systems, video calls, and remote desktop sessions.
  • Develop and deliver virtual training sessions, user guides, and SOPs for new system rollouts.
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to translate clinical workflows into technical requirements.
  • Monitor system performance, generate reports, and recommend optimizations to improve uptime and user satisfaction.
  • Maintain documentation of configurations, change logs, and incident resolutions in a centralized knowledge base.
  • Stay current with healthcare regulations, security standards, and emerging health‑tech trends.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience supporting EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts) or similar health‑IT systems.
  • Strong understanding of HL7, FHIR, CCD, and other health data exchange protocols.
  • Proficiency with remote support tools (TeamViewer, LogMeIn, VPNs) and ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate clinical terminology into technical specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to clinical audiences.
  • Experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux environments; basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash) a plus.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare privacy regulations.
