Estimated Salary Range: $45,000 – $65,000 USD/year (Based on experience, certifications, and performance metrics. Includes potential for overtime and bonuses.)
About the Role
This is not a traditional manual labor position. As a Remote Freight, Stock, and Material Mover, you will be the digital command center for physical goods movement. You will coordinate with warehouse teams, carriers, and clients to ensure the seamless flow of materials. Your primary workplace is your home office, using advanced logistics software to track shipments, manage inventory databases, resolve discrepancies, and generate critical reports. You will be responsible for the accuracy and efficiency of the supply chain pipeline from dispatch to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Coordination & Tracking
- Monitor and manage real-time freight movements using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Schedule and confirm pickups and deliveries with carriers and internal warehouse teams.
- Proactively identify and communicate potential delays, route issues, or capacity problems.
- Maintain master logs of all in-transit and warehoused materials.
Inventory & Data Management
- Perform daily cycle counts and reconcile digital inventory records with physical stock reports.
- Process receiving and shipping documentation (BOLs, packing slips, customs forms) digitally.
- Update inventory databases with precision, ensuring SKU accuracy, location codes, and quantity data.
- Generate and analyze daily/weekly inventory and throughput reports for management.
Communication & Problem Resolution
- Serve as the primary point of contact for freight inquiries via email and internal chat platforms.
- Resolve shipment exceptions, such as damages, mis-sorts, or missing items, by coordinating between parties.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, drivers, and warehouse staff to provide updates and solutions.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field a strong plus.
- 2+ years of experience in a logistics coordinator, freight dispatcher, stockroom, or warehouse administrative role.
- Proficiency with ERP, TMS, or WMS software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, Blue Yonder). Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) are mandatory.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear remote coordination.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a home-office environment.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Logistics (e.g., CLTD, CSCP) or Forklift Operator certification (even if not operating remotely, it shows foundational knowledge).
- Experience in specific industries: manufacturing, e-commerce fulfillment, or cold chain logistics.
- Basic understanding of freight classification (NMFC) and carrier rate structures.
