About the Role

We are seeking a licensed Fire Engineer with a strong background in fire dynamics, code compliance, and performance‑based design. You will lead fire hazard analyses, develop suppression and detection strategies, and provide technical guidance to clients across North America, ensuring their facilities meet the highest safety standards while embracing sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities

Fire Protection Design

Create detailed fire protection plans, including sprinkler layout, standpipe systems, and fire alarm designs using industry‑standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and FAST.

Code Analysis & Consulting

Interpret and apply NFPA, IBC, IFC, and local fire codes; prepare code compliance reports and advise clients on cost‑effective remedial measures.

Performance‑Based Engineering

Conduct computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and egress modeling to validate design alternatives and support alternative materials or methods requests (AMMR).

Project Collaboration

Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams in virtual design meetings; provide fire safety input during all project phases from concept to occupancy.

Technical Leadership

Mentor junior engineers, review deliverables for quality assurance, and stay current with emerging fire safety technologies and research.

Requirements

Education & Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or equivalent is a plus.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in fire protection design, code consulting, or performance‑based analysis.
• Proven proficiency with fire modeling tools (e.g., FDS, PyroSim) and BIM platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.
