About the Role

As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using industry‑standard CAD tools. You’ll support project teams from concept through installation, ensuring designs meet client specifications, NEC/UL standards, and internal quality benchmarks. The position is 100% remote, allowing you to work from any location within the United States while staying connected through our collaborative digital workspace.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop single‑line diagrams, schematic designs, and layout plans for power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short‑circuit studies to validate design integrity.
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and process engineers to resolve interdisciplinary conflicts.
• Maintain revision control, generate Bills of Materials (BOMs), and produce installation documentation.
• Assist in reviewing vendor submittals and conducting design checks for compliance with applicable codes.
• Participate in project kick‑off meetings, progress reviews, and client presentations via video conference.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design for commercial, industrial, or utility projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD platforms; familiarity with Revit MEP is a plus.
• Solid understanding of NEC, IEC, and UL standards; ability to apply them to design work.
• Strong analytical skills for performing calculations and troubleshooting design issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with power distribution design, motor control centers, and PLC‑based control systems.
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems (solar, wind, storage) and associated interconnection requirements.
• Certification such as CET (Certified Electrical Technician) or NICET Level III in Electrical Power.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a remote environment.
