Are you a compassionate, dedicated professional seeking a meaningful career that offers true flexibility? We are hiring a Remote Direct Support Professional to provide essential, empowering support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in their Florida homes. This is a fully remote clinical and administrative role where you’ll manage a caseload, coordinate with families and healthcare teams, and drive positive outcomes—all from your home office, with scheduled travel for client visits.

About the Role: Your Impact as a Remote DSP

As a cornerstone of our support network, you will serve as a primary advocate and facilitator for 3-5 assigned clients. You will create and implement person-centered support plans, monitor health and wellness indicators, assist with community integration, and provide crucial respite for families. Unlike traditional in-home care roles, this position leverages technology for documentation, scheduling, and team collaboration, minimizing administrative burden and maximizing your direct impact. You’ll be part of a larger clinical team but operate with significant autonomy, managing your daily schedule to best serve your clients’ unique needs across various Florida communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of client needs, strengths, and goals.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized support plans in collaboration with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams (nurses, therapists, case managers).
  • Provide direct support with activities of daily living (ADLs), medication administration (with certification), and community-based skill building.
  • Maintain accurate, timely electronic health records (EHR) and progress notes via our secure platform.
  • Serve as a crisis intervention resource and ensure client safety and well-being at all times.
  • Advocate for client rights and facilitate access to community resources, recreation, and social opportunities.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and clinical supervision sessions via video conference.

What We’re Looking For: Qualifications & Requirements

We seek empathetic, resourceful, and highly organized professionals. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a remote setting but is also willing and able to travel locally for client appointments, support visits, and team meetings (estimated 20-30% of time).

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of paid experience supporting individuals with I/DD, brain injuries, or complex medical needs.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and current auto insurance for client travel.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting and driving record review.
  • Proficiency with computers, including video conferencing (Zoom/Teams), electronic documentation, and general office software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for remote collaboration.

Highly Desired:

  • Certifications such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification.
  • Experience with person-centered planning and positive behavioral supports.
  • Knowledge of Florida’s Medicaid waiver programs (e.g., iBudget, HCBS).

Compensation & Benefits: We Value Your Work

This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive starting salary range that reflects your experience and qualifications. We believe in transparent and fair compensation.

Salary Range:

$38,000 – $52,000 USD/year
