About the Role: Your Impact as a Virtual Dental Assistant

In this 100% remote position, you will serve as the crucial bridge between patients, dentists, and our operational team. You will manage the administrative and clinical coordination aspects of virtual dental visits, ensuring a seamless, efficient, and empathetic experience for everyone. Your work directly contributes to expanding access to dental care, reducing no-show rates, and allowing our dental partners to focus on clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-visit and post-visit patient interviews via phone or secure video to gather medical/dental histories and update records.
• Prepare and organize patient charts, radiographs, and treatment plans for dentist review prior to virtual consultations.
• Facilitate smooth virtual appointments by testing patient technology, guiding them through the platform, and managing the digital “room.”
• Provide chair-side assistance during live video consults: handing instruments (via a pre-staged kit at the patient’s location), managing suction, and documenting notes in real-time.
• Process patient eligibility verifications, submit preliminary claims, and handle co-pay collections.
• Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and in-person visits as clinically necessary.
• Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and all data security protocols in a remote environment.

What We’re Looking For: Qualifications & Skills

We need a detail-oriented, tech-savvy professional who thrives in a home office setting. You must be self-motivated, an excellent communicator, and deeply committed to patient privacy and comfort.

Must-Have Requirements:

• Active Dental Assistant certification or registration in your state of residence (or a state with reciprocity).
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on clinical dental assisting experience in a practice setting.
• Proven proficiency with dental software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, etc.) and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Demonstrated technical aptitude with video conferencing tools (Zoom, Teams, etc.) and troubleshooting basic connectivity issues.
• Quiet, professional, and dedicated home workspace with a reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric phone manner.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills:

• Previous experience in a telehealth, teledentistry, or virtual care setting.
• Familiarity with remote patient monitoring devices and intraoral cameras.
• Bilingual capabilities (Spanish, Mandarin, etc.).

Salary Range:

$48,000 – $68,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience, certification, and geographic location pay zones.
