About the Role

Salary Range

$45,000 – $65,000 USD/year, depending on experience, certifications, and performance. Top performers may earn additional bonuses for high-volume or complex case loads.

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (associate’s degree preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in background checks, investigations, law enforcement, or compliance
• Proven ability to analyze public records, court documents, and databases with precision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills—your reports must be clear, concise, and legally defensible
• Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, professional home workspace
• Ability to pass a federal background check and drug screening

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with LexisNexis, TLO, or other investigative databases
• Previous work in government contracting, military vetting, or security clearance processing
• Certifications such as Certified Background Investigator (CBI) or ASIS CPP
