About the Role

As a Remote Background Investigator, you will manage a diverse caseload involving employment, vendor, and volunteer screenings. You will navigate public records, conduct in-depth interviews, and synthesize complex information into clear, unbiased reports. This position is 100% remote, requiring self-discipline and a secure, dedicated workspace. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough background investigations per client specifications and legal standards (FCRA, etc.).
• Locate and analyze records from county courts, state repositories, federal databases, and educational/professional institutions.
• Perform strategic telephone and in-person interviews with references, neighbors, and associates.
• Verify employment history, education credentials, professional licenses, and personal references.
• Compile detailed, objective, and grammatically correct investigative reports for client review.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all data security protocols and company policies.
• Manage your workload and deadlines independently in a remote setting.

Requirements

What You Must Have

• Associate’s degree or 2+ years of relevant professional experience in investigations, paralegal work, law enforcement, or HR compliance.
• Proven ability to navigate online public record databases and court websites with precision.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for professional interviews and report writing.
• Strong analytical mindset with impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Reliable high-speed internet, a quiet and private workspace, and proficiency with standard办公 software (MS Office/Google Workspace).
• Must be a resident of the United States and able to pass a comprehensive background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field.

Salary & Compensation

We offer a competitive starting salary range of $45,000 – $65,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation is salaried with potential for quarterly performance bonuses based on productivity, quality metrics, and caseload management.
