You will manage a full caseload of background checks, going beyond simple database searches to conduct in-depth verifications of employment, education, references, and personal history. Using a combination of public records, proprietary databases, and strategic telephone interviews, you will compile detailed, factual reports that inform major hiring and partnership decisions. This is not a data-entry role; it is a consultative, analytical position where your investigative judgment and ethical compass are paramount. You will become an expert in federal guidelines (like the FCRA) and state-specific regulations, ensuring every report meets the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Proven Research Prowess: 2+ years of professional experience in background investigations, due diligence, HR screening, paralegal research, or investigative journalism.
• Investigative Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail, persistence in tracking down elusive information, and the ability to identify red flags and inconsistencies.
• Communication Mastery: Outstanding phone etiquette and clear, concise report writing skills. You can professionally navigate difficult interviews and explain complex findings.
• Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, ability to quickly learn new software, and a reliable, secure high-speed internet connection.
