About the Role

As a Remote Attorney, you will partner with product, engineering, and client success teams to ensure our platform complies with state and federal regulations, draft and review legal documents, and provide strategic advice on risk management. You will also represent the company in negotiations, assist with intellectual property protection, and stay current on evolving Texas statutes that impact our SaaS offerings. This role is fully remote, but candidates must be licensed to practice law in Texas and reside within the state to meet jurisdictional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analysis on Texas business, data privacy, and intellectual property laws.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, service agreements, and licensing terms.
• Advise internal teams on compliance matters, including GDPR, CCPA, and industry‑specific regulations.
• Manage external counsel relationships and oversee litigation or dispute resolution when necessary.
• Develop internal policies and training materials to promote legal awareness across the organization.
• Participate in product development meetings to identify legal risks early in the lifecycle.
• Stay abreast of legislative changes and advise leadership on potential impacts to the business.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas State Bar license in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate law, technology law, or litigation.
• Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Familiarity with data protection regulations (e.g., CCPA, HIPAA) and intellectual property management.
