This isn’t just a management job; it’s a career-defining opportunity to shape daily operations, mentor emerging leaders, and drive profitability in a dynamic, fully remote setting. If you thrive on solving complex puzzles and building winning teams, your next challenge awaits.

About the Role

As our Remote Assistant General Manager, you will be the operational backbone of our organization, acting as the right hand to the General Manager and stepping into a leadership void with confidence. You will oversee critical business functions, ensure seamless daily execution, and champion a culture of high performance and accountability, all while working remotely. Your influence will span across budgeting, staffing, process optimization, and customer experience, directly impacting our bottom line and team morale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Development & Management: Lead, coach, and mentor department managers and team leads. Handle high-level performance management, conflict resolution, and foster a collaborative, engaged remote workforce.
  • Strategic Execution: Translate the General Manager’s strategic vision into actionable plans. Lead special projects, analyze performance data, and propose innovative solutions to business challenges.
  • Vendor & Partner Relations: Manage key vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements are met to support operational needs.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all remote operational practices and policies comply with relevant regulations and uphold the highest standards of safety and security.

Requirements

We are looking for a proven leader with a track record of elevating operations and developing people in a remote or hybrid environment. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with exceptional emotional intelligence and a hands-on approach.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive management experience, with at least 2 years in an Assistant Manager or Operations Manager capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in managing P&L statements, budgeting, and operational KPIs.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams virtually (video calls, Slack, email).
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint) and operational software (e.g., ERP, CRM systems).
  • A self-starter with impeccable time-management, able to thrive with autonomy and minimal supervision in a remote setting.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a fast-paced industry such as retail, hospitality, e-commerce logistics, or SaaS operations.
  • Proven ability to implement new technologies or systems to improve remote operational efficiency.
  • Certifications in Project Management (PMP) or Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

Our Remote Work Culture

We are a distributed team built on trust, transparency, and results. We use a “core hours” model (10 AM – 2 PM local time) for collaboration, with the rest of your schedule flexible. Our communication is async-first, respecting deep work time. We leverage tools like Slack, Zoom, Asana, and Notion to stay connected and productive. We prioritize output over hours logged and believe a fulfilled employee creates the best customer experiences.

What to Expect

The application process is designed to be efficient and respectful of your time. After submitting your resume and a brief cover letter detailing your most significant operational win, selected candidates will complete a 30-minute introductory call with our Talent Partner. This is followed by a 60-minute competency interview with the General Manager and a 45-minute virtual “culture add” interview with a future peer. We aim to make a decision within two weeks of final interviews. A background check and employment verification are required upon offer.

This is a permanent, full-time remote position. You must be legally authorized to work in the United States and reside within the U.S. to be considered. We are an equal opportunity employer, celebrating diversity and committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
