About the Role

As a Physician Assistant at Memorial Hermann, you will function as an essential member of our multidisciplinary care teams within our advanced outpatient and inpatient facilities. Your daily responsibilities will include conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, performing procedures, prescribing medications, and providing patient education. You will collaborate closely with leading physicians in specialties such as primary care, emergency medicine, or surgery, depending on your assignment and expertise. What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including initial assessments, diagnostics, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in partnership with patients and their families.
  • Perform common clinical procedures, such as suturing, joint injections, and wound care, within your scope of practice.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately and efficiently in our electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and clinical team meetings.
  • Mentor and provide support to medical students, residents, and other clinical staff.

Who You Are: Required Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current, unrestricted certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Active, unrestricted Texas PA license or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
  • Current DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a practicing PA (new graduates with exceptional clinical rotations will be considered for select positions).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in patient assessment, differential diagnosis, and clinical decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and a diverse healthcare team.
  • Strong aptitude for using medical technology and EHR systems.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic clinical setting and manage a varied patient caseload.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range

We offer a highly competitive salary commensurate with experience and specialty. The estimated base salary range for this position in the Houston market is $115,000 – $145,000 USD per year. This range does not include potential shift differentials, overtime, incentive pay, or benefits.
