Key Responsibilities

- Greeting patients with warmth and professionalism, managing check-in/check-out processes, and scheduling appointments.
- Taking and recording patient histories, vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.), and preparing patients for examinations.
- Assisting physicians during exams by performing basic clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, administering injections, applying dressings, and performing EKGs.
- Processing and coding patient information accurately in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Managing specimen collection, processing lab requests, and handling medication refill authorizations per provider direction.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked clinical and administrative workspace to ensure optimal workflow.
What We’re Looking For: Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a certified professional with a patient-first attitude and a knack for organization. Required qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred.
- Active certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a must.
- 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced outpatient clinic, physician’s office, or urgent care setting.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy, vital signs measurement, and basic clinical procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and empathetic under pressure.
Preferred candidates will also have experience with minor procedure assistance and a current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
