About the Role

As a Medical Assistant at HealthFirst, you will perform a diverse range of clinical and administrative tasks essential to our clinic’s efficiency and patient satisfaction. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing patients for examinations, taking vital signs, assisting physicians during procedures, administering medications under supervision, performing basic laboratory tests, and managing patient records. You will also handle scheduling, billing inquiries, and maintain a clean, organized treatment area. This role requires excellent communication skills, multitasking ability, and a genuine commitment to providing compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient intake, including vital signs, medical history, and preparation for exams.
• Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
• Perform basic laboratory tests (e.g., urinalysis, strep tests) and phlebotomy.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records.
• Manage scheduling, verify insurance, and handle billing inquiries.
• Ensure the treatment room and equipment are clean, organized, and stocked.
• Provide exceptional customer service and address patient concerns.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the following qualifications:

Essential Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience (1+ years) as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work collaboratively in a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude when interacting with patients.
• Valid CPR certification.
