About the Role

In this position you will work directly with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and high‑quality patient experiences. The role blends clinical duties such as vitals collection, specimen preparation, and patient education with front‑desk responsibilities including scheduling, insurance verification, and electronic health record management.

Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient intake assessments and accurately document medical histories. Assist clinicians with examinations, administer injections, and conduct basic laboratory procedures. Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure compliance with infection control protocols. Provide clear explanations of treatment plans to patients, fostering trust and adherence. Support clinic workflow by managing appointment calendars, processing referrals, and coordinating follow‑up visits.

Requirements

Candidate must hold a current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential from an accredited program. A minimum of one year of clinical experience in a primary care or outpatient setting is preferred. Proficiency with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Athena is essential. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment are required. Current CPR/BLS certification is mandatory.

Education and Certification

Graduation from a recognized Medical Assistant program with coursework in anatomy, medical terminology, and patient safety. Completion of a clinical externship that includes hands‑on patient care. Valid state licensure to practice as a Medical Assistant in Texas.
