As our IT Manager in San Francisco, you will transition from maintaining systems to architecting a scalable, secure, and innovative tech ecosystem that directly powers our product roadmap and business expansion. About the Role & Impact

You will own the full spectrum of our information technology landscape, from infrastructure and cybersecurity to vendor relationships and team development. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will translate business objectives into robust technical strategies, ensuring our technology platform is not just a support function but a core competitive advantage. You will build and mentor a high-performing team, manage our cloud and on-premise environments, and be the champion for digital transformation across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a 3-year IT strategic plan aligned with aggressive company growth goals.
  • Oversee all IT infrastructure (network, servers, cloud platforms – AWS/Azure), ensuring 99.9% uptime, scalability, and security.
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives, including policy development, threat monitoring, compliance (SOC 2, GDPR), and incident response planning.
  • Manage the IT budget, vendor contracts, and procurement to optimize cost-efficiency without compromising on quality or security.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a team of 5-8 IT professionals (SysAdmins, Support, Security), fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor to non-technical leadership, translating complex concepts into clear business insights.
  • Drive the implementation of new tools and platforms (e.g., collaboration software, DevOps pipelines) to enhance productivity.

Salary Range

$120,000 – $165,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This role includes a performance-based bonus and a comprehensive equity package.

What You Bring (Requirements)

We are looking for a proven leader with a blend of deep technical expertise and sharp business acumen. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can also get into the details when necessary.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • 7+ years in IT management, with at least 3 years leading teams in a tech or SaaS environment.
  • Proven experience designing and managing secure, high-availability cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Expert-level knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated success in managing IT budgets, major vendor relationships, and large-scale technology implementations.
  • Exceptional communication skills—able to present to the C-suite and explain tech to a new hire with equal clarity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • PMP, CISSP, or similar certifications are highly desirable but not mandatory.
