Health Data Analyst Job in Boston | CaringHealth Network

Join CaringHealth Network as a Health Data Analyst in Boston, where your insights will directly drive life-saving clinical and operational decisions. Leverage SQL, Python, and Tableau to turn complex healthcare datasets into clear, actionable strategies that improve patient outcomes and system efficiency. If you’re a problem-solver passionate about the intersection of data science and healthcare innovation, this role is your platform to make a measurable impact.

About the Role

As a Health Data Analyst, you will be at the forefront of our mission to deliver smarter, data-driven healthcare. You will collaborate with clinical leaders, epidemiologists, and operations managers to analyze trends, measure program effectiveness, and predict patient needs. Your work will directly influence resource allocation, treatment protocols, and community health initiatives across our network of hospitals and clinics in the Greater Boston area. This is a hands-on role where your analyses will be presented to executive teams and used to shape real-world health policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extract, clean, and validate large-scale data from Electronic Health Records (EHR), claims databases, and public health sources using SQL and scripting languages.
  • Develop and maintain dynamic dashboards and visualizations in Tableau or Power BI to track key performance indicators (KPIs) like patient readmission rates, treatment efficacy, and population health trends.
  • Conduct advanced statistical analyses (e.g., regression, forecasting, cohort analysis) to identify opportunities for improving care quality and reducing costs.
  • Partner with medical staff to translate clinical questions into analytical projects, ensuring findings are statistically sound and clinically relevant.
  • Ensure all data handling complies strictly with HIPAA regulations and internal privacy protocols, maintaining the highest standards of data security and ethics.
  • Document all analytical methodologies and present findings in clear, compelling reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You Bring

We seek a curious and meticulous analyst who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. The ideal candidate combines technical prowess with a genuine desire to improve health systems.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Public Health, or a related quantitative field. Master’s degree is a strong plus.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in healthcare data analysis, health services research, or a related clinical/business intelligence role.
  • Proven experience working with healthcare data standards (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, LOINC) and EHR systems like Epic or Cerner.

Technical Skills

  • Expert proficiency in SQL for complex querying and database management.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) or R for data manipulation and statistical modeling.
  • Advanced experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) to build intuitive, stakeholder-friendly dashboards.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills: ability to translate complex technical results into concise, actionable business narratives for clinicians and administrators.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset with keen attention to detail and data integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team setting.
  • Deep commitment to the ethical use of data to advance health equity and patient welfare.

Competitive Compensation & Benefits

We believe in rewarding the critical work that powers our health network. The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $85,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience and proven impact. Your total compensation package includes:

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance (effective day one).
  • 401(k) plan with a generous company match.
  • Flexible hybrid work model (3 days remote per week) and generous paid time off.
  • Annual professional development stipend for conferences, certifications, and courses.
  • Tuition reimbursement for relevant advanced degrees.
  • Wellness programs and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
