About the Role

As a Dental Assistant at Bright Smiles Dental, you will be the cornerstone of our patient experience. You will perform a wide range of clinical and administrative duties, directly supporting our dentists during procedures, preparing treatment rooms, and ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. Your expertise in chairside assisting, instrument sterilization, and patient communication will be crucial in delivering high-quality, efficient care. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by setting up instruments, materials, and equipment for each procedure.
• Assist dentists during examinations and treatments, passing instruments and providing necessary materials.
• Perform routine dental procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist, such as applying topical anesthetics, fluoride treatments, and sealants.
• Maintain strict infection control protocols and sterilization procedures for all instruments and equipment.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) according to established protocols.
• Manage patient records, schedule appointments, and handle billing inquiries.
• Provide patients with post-operative instructions and oral hygiene education.
• Maintain a clean and organized reception area and treatment rooms.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a CODA-accredited Dental Assistant program or equivalent practical experience.
• Current Dental Assistant license or registration (where required by state law).
• Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry practice.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and equipment.
• Excellent chairside assisting skills and ability to anticipate dentist needs.
• Proficient in dental radiography techniques and safety protocols.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy clinical setting.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
