We are actively searching for a compassionate and skilled Dental Assistant to become a vital part of our award-winning team at Lumina Dental Care in the heart of Seattle. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to grow your career in a supportive, state-of-the-art environment that truly values your expertise and dedication to exceptional patient experiences.

About the Role at Lumina Dental Care

Our Practice Philosophy

Lumina Dental Care is renowned for combining cutting-edge technology with a gentle, patient-first approach. We foster a culture of mutual respect, continuous learning, and teamwork. As a Dental Assistant here, you won’t just be supporting a dentist; you’ll be an integral partner in delivering comprehensive care, from routine cleanings to complex restorative procedures, within a modern, comfortable facility designed for both patients and staff.

A Day in the Life

Your day begins by reviewing the schedule and preparing operatories with all necessary instruments and materials, ensuring a seamless flow. You’ll greet patients with warmth, take detailed medical histories, and set them at ease before procedures. During treatments, you’ll be the dentist’s right hand—anticipating needs, passing instruments, managing suction, and operating digital X-ray equipment with precision. Between patients, you’ll meticulously sterilize instruments, update digital records, and restock supplies. The role is dynamic, blending clinical excellence with administrative support, and your positive attitude will directly impact our patients’ comfort and our practice’s efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct chairside assistance to the dentist during a wide range of general and cosmetic procedures.
  • Perform and process high-quality digital radiographs (X-rays) following ALARA principles and state regulations.
  • Prepare dental materials, mix cement, and fabricate temporary restorations as needed.
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments and managing operatory turnover according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
  • Manage patient records, update treatment plans in our Dentrix software, and handle scheduling with accuracy.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care with clarity and empathy.
  • Order and manage dental supplies and inventory to ensure smooth daily operations.

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential from an accredited program and a current Washington State Dental Assistant License, including a valid Radiology Permit. You must have at least 2 years of full-time experience in a busy general dentistry practice. Proficiency with digital X-ray sensors, intraoral cameras, and practice management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is essential. Beyond technical skills, we need someone with outstanding communication, impeccable organization, and the physical stamina to remain on your feet and assist throughout the day.

The Ideal Team Player

You are proactive, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced setting. A genuine passion for helping people, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe environment are non-negotiable. You take pride in your work, follow protocols meticulously, and understand that your role is critical to both patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range

We offer a highly competitive salary commensurate with your experience and certification, within the range of $48,000 – $62,000 USD/year. This position is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus tied to both individual and practice goals.

Comprehensive Benefits Package

Your well-being is our priority. Full-time employees enjoy medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a generous company match, and paid time off that accrues from day one. We cover your Washington State Dental Assistant License renewal and provide a substantial annual stipend for continuing education courses to support your professional growth. Additional perks include a monthly stipend for commuting, team luncheons, and the latest in dental technology to make your work easier and more effective.
