About the Role

In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of our Austin data center facilities. Your core duties will include:

• Performing routine hardware maintenance, upgrades, and replacements on servers, storage systems, and networking equipment.
• Proactively monitoring server health, network performance, and environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) using specialized tools.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware failures, software glitches, and connectivity issues impacting critical systems.
• Ensuring strict adherence to security protocols, including physical access controls and data center compliance standards.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Network Engineers, System Administrators) to implement solutions and document changes.

Requirements

We seek a highly motivated individual with a strong foundation in IT infrastructure:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience working in a data center, server room, or similar IT infrastructure environment.
• Proven expertise with server hardware (e.g., Dell, HPE, Cisco) and common operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
• Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work comfortably in a raised floor environment.
• Knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security best practices.
• Current CompTIA A+ certification is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
